Reasons to create the first true business club in Jijona

Jijona (Xixona) is a municipality with an economic history deeply rooted in artisanal production—especially nougat and ice cream—and a cultural identity that has been built over centuries around these unique products.

Despite its global reputation as “The Sweetest Place in the World,” local economic dynamics have experienced relatively slow progress compared to other, more urbanized areas of the province or the Valencian Community. This moderate growth rate is due, in part, to the seasonality of demand (higher during festive periods) and the traditional fragmentation of the productive fabric, with many artisanal micro-enterprises operating independently.

  1. Strengthening local economic cooperation

Cooperation between companies does not happen by chance: it requires platforms, structures, and spaces where entrepreneurs can meet, talk, and articulate shared interests. According to territorial development studies, business networks promote the dissemination of knowledge, reduce transaction costs, and stimulate innovative solutions—benefits that are difficult to achieve when each business operates in isolation. Our business club in Jijona serves as this institutional and entrepreneurial link, closing a historic gap between scattered initiatives and a collective approach that enhances the competitiveness of the entire region.

  1. Addressing the lack of visibility of cooperation

Although sectoral associations already exist (for example, those linked to the nougat PGI) and tourism events such as the Christmas Fair are held, there is still no space dedicated specifically to comprehensive business networking, where SMEs, freelancers, emerging industries, investors, and international talent interested in collaborating with the local community can come together.

Successful business clubs in Spain have shown how a space dedicated to networking activities and joint projects can multiply the visibility and business opportunities of their members, generating hundreds of meetings, strategic alliances, and high-value synergies.

Our club in Jijona will have a similar impact, enabling the reputation of local companies—including those linked to the nougat industry, tourism, or agri-food—to extend more visibly into regional, national, and international markets.

  1. Improving communication channels and connections

Nowadays, many local companies face a lack of effective channels to communicate their value propositions outward, exchange knowledge, or connect with potential partners beyond their traditional circles. Our business club exists precisely to break down this barrier, offering structured networking activities, business presentations, roundtables, and workshops that increase real professional connectivity among our members.

The creation of an efficient agenda of business events allows participants to exchange experiences, share challenges, and cooperate on concrete projects with a far more strategic logic than that of simple informal meetings.

  1. Revitalizing the local economy and attracting investment

In recent years, Jijona has attracted significant industrial investment—for example, new productive projects in the L’Espartal III business park totaling several million euros and generating employment—but this momentum could be further maximized through our structured platform to channel business contacts, investors, and joint expansion opportunities.

Our business club is a meeting point where investment needs are identified, resources are shared, and collective value propositions are created that would not be possible if each company acted in isolation.

  1. Contributing to Jijona’s identity and reputation

Beyond immediate economic benefits, the creation of our business club represents a commitment to strengthening Jijona’s identity as a territory not only of artisanal tradition, but also of innovation, cooperation, and international business projection. This aligns with cultural and tourism development strategies focused on the added value of the local brand, such as recent initiatives promoting product routes, gastronomic events, or thematic tourism that enhance the city’s visibility beyond its traditional seasonality.

In conclusion

Our business club in Jijona responds to a strategic need to:

  • Improve productive cooperation and competitiveness among local companies.

  • Facilitate communication and networking channels that are currently scarce.

  • Increase visibility and business opportunities in regional and international markets.

How we work at the Club de Negocis de Xixona

The Club de Negocis de Xixona operates as an active space for exchange, reflection, and action. Our working model is based on the direct participation of members and on the conviction that the best solutions emerge when knowledge and experience are shared.

During Club meetings, participants have the opportunity to present business ideas, propose topics of interest, or raise real challenges and problems they are facing in their companies. These may relate to growth, innovation, financing, organization, internationalization, sustainability, or other key aspects of business activity.

When an idea, topic, or problem is considered relevant, valuable, or particularly interesting by the majority of members, the creation of a specific working group is proposed. These groups are formed on a voluntary basis, bringing together members who wish to become actively involved in developing that particular initiative.

Each working group aims to analyze the topic in depth, share experiences, explore solutions, and, where possible, develop concrete proposals or projects. The approach is practical and collaborative, focused on generating real value for participants and for the business environment of Xixona.

The working groups periodically report to the Club on their progress, needs, learnings, and conclusions during general meetings. In this way, the knowledge generated is shared, collectively enriched, and can lead to new initiatives, collaborations, or lines of action.

This model allows the Club to be not just a networking space, but a living platform for business cooperation, where ideas are transformed into projects and challenges into shared opportunities.

Languages and communication at the Club de Negocis de Xixona

Languages and communication at the Club de Negocis de Xixona

The Club de Negocis de Xixona is a diverse community, made up of members from different nationalities, cultures, and professional backgrounds. This diversity is one of our greatest strengths and a constant source of learning and mutual enrichment.

To ensure clear, efficient, and high-quality communication, the official languages for both oral and written communication within the Club are Spanish and English. These two languages enable broad participation and facilitate a fluid exchange of ideas during meetings, activities, and official communications.

At the same time, we are aware that, in certain contexts, it may be necessary to support members who do not fully master these languages. For this reason, the Club promotes, whenever possible, ad hoc translation—written or verbal—of relevant content, with the aim of facilitating understanding, inclusion, and the active participation of all members.

This linguistic support is offered according to a clear principle: always maintaining a high standard of communication quality, avoiding misunderstandings and ensuring that ideas, nuances, and conclusions are conveyed with rigor and respect. When precision is especially important—for example, in projects, conclusions, or strategic documents—the use of carefully prepared and reviewed translations will be prioritized.

We believe that good communication is not only about speaking the same language, but about truly understanding one another. Facilitating that understanding is a shared responsibility and an essential condition for solid, effective, and long-lasting business cooperation.

Annual commitment to Jijona

As the Club de Negocis de Xixona, we undertake the commitment to jointly promote, once a year, a project developed on an altruistic basis for the benefit of Jijona. This commitment reflects our conviction that business cooperation must generate a positive and lasting impact on the environment that hosts us.

The annual projects will be proposed, discussed, and selected during the month of January each year, and will count on the active involvement, support, and work of all Club members, in accordance with their capacities, knowledge, and availability.

We understand that this type of initiative may, in the medium or long term, be linked to general economic interests that contribute to the development of the local business fabric. However, such interests must always be collective and of a general nature, and never oriented toward the particular benefit of one or several members. In all cases, the interests of the project must primarily serve Jijona and its overall economic growth.

Participation in this annual project is a mandatory element of Club membership. Unjustified non-participation in this activity may be considered sufficient cause for the immediate termination of membership.

The decision to terminate a membership for this reason will be carried out through a transparent and democratic procedure: upon proposal by the President of the Club, the termination of membership will be submitted to a vote at the next General Assembly of members, where the corresponding decision will be adopted in accordance with the Club’s statutes and internal regulations.

This annual commitment constitutes an essential expression of our identity as a Club: a business community that not only connects companies, but also assumes real responsibility for the economic and social future of Jijona.

Our values

The Club de Negocis de Xixona is founded on a shared way of understanding business, cooperation, and economic development. We firmly believe that business progress is not built in isolation, but through genuine collaboration, open dialogue, and the willingness to share knowledge, experiences, and diverse perspectives. For this reason, we foster an environment where trust, mutual respect, and honesty are the foundation of all professional relationships.

We deeply value the cultural, professional, and personal diversity of our members, convinced that the richness of viewpoints and backgrounds strengthens the quality of the ideas and solutions that emerge within the Club. This diversity requires clear, efficient, and high-quality communication, capable of facilitating understanding, avoiding misunderstandings, and turning differences into opportunities for learning and growth.

We promote an attitude of continuous learning, understanding that the exchange of knowledge and experiences is one of the main drivers of innovation. We are committed to innovation with purpose, oriented toward generating sustainable value and strengthening both the business fabric and the identity of Xixona, respecting its history while projecting it into the future.

We act with responsibility and commitment, aware that our decisions have an impact that goes beyond individual interests. We believe in a form of economic development that is sustainable over time, socially responsible, and beneficial to the community as a whole. At the same time, we maintain an open and connected vocation, aimed at building bridges between the local business reality and broader networks capable of bringing new opportunities and perspectives.

These values define who we are as a Club and how we wish to grow: as a solid, coherent business community committed to the economic and social future of Xixona.

Long-term objectives

Our vision extends beyond the present. In the medium and long term, the Club aspires to consolidate itself as a business benchmark in Jijona and its surrounding area, capable of attracting talent, initiatives, and cooperation opportunities at regional, national, and international levels.

We seek to create an active business community, recognized for its ability to generate joint projects, facilitate strategic connections, and contribute to the sustainable economic development of the territory. In the long term, we want the Club to be identified as a space where ideas with long-term potential are born, decisions are made with sound judgment, and relationships are built that endure over time.

Impact on the community

The Club de Negocis de Xixona is born with the explicit intention of generating a positive impact on the local community. We understand economic development as a collective process, in which business growth must be accompanied by tangible benefits for the surrounding environment.

Our projects and activities seek to strengthen the local business fabric, foster new economic opportunities, drive innovation, and contribute to projecting Jijona as a dynamic and attractive territory for entrepreneurship, investment, and collaboration. The Club does not operate with its back turned to the community, but as an active part of it.

Connection with broader business networks

Although deeply rooted in Jijona, the Club maintains an open and connected vocation. We aspire to act as a bridge between the local business reality and broader networks, facilitating access to contacts, knowledge, and opportunities that go beyond the local sphere.

Through participation in meetings, collaborations, and relationships with other business organizations, the Club helps place Jijona on the map of economic cooperation, strengthening its visibility and its capacity for interaction with other business ecosystems.

How we measure our success

For the Club de Negocis de Xixona, success is not measured solely in numbers, but in the quality of relationships, projects carried out, and value generated collectively. Some of the indicators we consider relevant include the active participation of members, the number and quality of collaborative projects launched, and the continuity of professional relationships that are born within the Club.

Our goal is to create an environment where progress is tangible, shared, and sustainable, and where each member perceives that their involvement contributes to a greater outcome.

Identity, history, and future

Xixona is a territory with a strong identity, built over centuries of tradition, effort, and entrepreneurial spirit. The Club de Negocis de Xixona draws inspiration from this heritage to project it into the future, combining respect for history with an innovative and open outlook toward change.

We believe that the entrepreneurial spirit that shaped the local identity can be reinterpreted today through new forms of cooperation, innovation, and shared vision. The Club is a space where past and future engage in dialogue in the service of economic development.

Commitment to sustainability

Our vision integrates a broad understanding of sustainability, encompassing economic, social, and territorial dimensions. We promote projects and collaborations that generate long-term value, avoiding short-term approaches and fostering responsible practices.

The Club aspires to contribute to a model of balanced growth, where economic progress is accompanied by social cohesion, respect for the environment, and conscious management of available resources.

An invitation to be part of it

The Club de Negocis de Xixona is, above all, a community of people who share a way of understanding business and cooperation. If you identify with this vision, if you believe in the value of dialogue, collaboration, and joint building, we invite you to become part of the Club and actively contribute to the economic future of Jijona.
